Ms Curtis, who served as an assistant representative to the President and Senior NSC Director for South and Central Asia from 2017 to 2021 under three consecutive national security advisors, praised the Biden government for his understanding of India’s position in Russia.

“Biden administration has been willing to accept several troubled positions that India have taken in the Russian invasion to Ukraine, for example, abstained nine times in the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, refused to punish the invasion of Ukraine who really could not be justified and not dimphocniced. , I think the problem pursues a relationship with a certain level, “Curtis said.
“I personally have been quite surprised by how sober the Biden government is in India’s failure to condemn Russian actions when almost all the world has been willing to do so,” he said.
Responding to the question, Ms Curtis said it was in Indian interest to talk against Russia.

Russia will also be more dependent on China, he said.
“Russia will be more than a junior partner to China than that. It means that China will call a shot in the partnership. So if India expects a lack of condemnation of Russian aggression to its support from Russia, on its own border with China, I think it’s wrong,” he said.
