Moscow: Five people died and 21 were injured in a bus accident south of Moscow on Sunday, Russian authorities said.
The Federal Traffic Inspection Agency said the accident occurred at 5:45 a.m. (0245 GMT) in the Ryazan region.
“As a result of the accident, five people died. Twenty-one was injured,” said the agency about the telegram, adding that two injured were underage.
It was said that the injury was from “various severity”.
This body published photos of the coach who was severely damaged, which hit the pillar under the train bridge. The front of the bus seems to be fully destroyed.
The driver included death, and the Internet website owned by the Russian Ministry of Home Affairs said he could fall asleep behind the wheel.
The accident took place on the highway near Voslebovo Village, 270 kilometers (170 miles) south of the capital, said the agency.
The bus brought a total of 49 passengers, traveling from the southern city of Astrakhan on the Volga River to Moscow.
The police said they had opened a criminal case to violate the traffic rules.
The local branch of the Russian Investigation Committee – which investigated great crime – then said that it has opened a second criminal case into a violation of safety regulations.
Violations of public travel safety requirements in Russia, which have seen a number of deadly bus accidents in recent years.
In December 2019, a bus fell from the bridge to the frozen river in Siberia, killing 19 people.
